On Friday 26th June, ordinand Liz Lane became The Rev'd Liz Lane when she was ordained Deacon in Truro Cathedral by The Bishop of Truro. Moments after the ordination she was vested in her white stole (the scarf), which was tied around her waist to symbolise the towel which Christ used to wash the feet of the disciples. The word deacon means 'servant'. Liz is now a Curate in the Benefice of St Neot and Warleggan - probably the first in decades if not for hundreds of years. A truly historic moment for us all.
